MW Builders has a vast amount of experience in repointing. Not only will your stone or brick wall look great but it will also serve to keep moisture from making it into your home, a house that has been repointed correctly is also more structurally sound. We own our own scaffold towers so no need for unsightly and costly conventional scaffolding. Also, unlike allot of building contractors we are experienced in using lime mortar, this is a must on the Island especially as most of the older properties are built using lime, a large proportion of the work we do is removing old cement pointing from lime built properties and repointing in lime. We have industrial dust extractors for when we remove the old mortar to prepare for repointing, this keeps dust to a minimum. At MW Builders we also offer a masonry sealer service, although not essential it is something we recommend. The product we use (stormdry) is a market leading product, it will keep water from penetrating the brick and new repointing, giving even more longevity to the work we carry out. Stormdry is completely breathable so allows any moisture out but doesn’t let any into your home. It is also completely invisible therefore not altering the appearance of the property.
